Colleagues from across evo have gone the extra mile – quite literally – by walking more than 71.9 million steps during a month-long wellbeing challenge, raising over £2,200 for evo Foundation.
The May Step Challenge brought together colleagues from across the group in a friendly fundraising initiative designed to encourage people to get moving, support their wellbeing and raise money for the Foundation’s charitable work.
Over the course of the month, participants collectively recorded an incredible 71.9 million individual steps, averaging up to 14k steps per person each day. Together, that’s the equivalent of walking around the world one and a half times!
The challenge inspired colleagues across the business to embrace healthy competition, support one another and build lasting habits. Several participants even surpassed the remarkable milestone of one million steps during the month.
One participant, Georgia Smith from VOW, said:
“Everyone has been in team spirit and showed up for our team! I have loved it and loathed it… It’s made me get up and move more than I ever have before. Something that I will continue. Well done to whoever came up with this and we look forward to the next challenge!”
Team VOW claimed the top spot in the team standings, averaging more than 14,000 steps per person each day, highlighting the enthusiasm and teamwork demonstrated throughout the challenge.
Most importantly, the initiative has so far raised more than £2,200 for evo Foundation, helping to support the Foundation’s ongoing work with charities and community organisations across the UK.
The Step Challenge is just one of many initiatives that encourage colleagues to support their own wellbeing while making a positive difference to the communities in which evo operates.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part, donated and encouraged colleagues throughout the month. Together, you’ve shown how small daily actions can add up to an extraordinary collective impact.
