Martin Weedall, evo Group Logistics Director, has today announced his retirement after over 35 years in the industry, with over 30 of those years spent with us at evo.

Martin’s full statement is below:
“After over 35 years in the industry, I have decided it is time for me to hang up the work boots and Hi-vis and retire.
“I have been lucky to have worked in this industry for a long time and during that time I have made many friends. I have enjoyed working with some fantastic people and have been supported and helped along the way by many, to everyone who helped and supported me in my career, I thank you for taking the time and effort to help me develop. There are far too many to mention, but you know who you are.
“I will always remember the help and opportunities you gave me.
“To the teams I have worked with over the years, a massive thank you.
“It is not about the manager or director, it is always about the team and how we all work together to achieve the same goals, I have been blessed with working with some incredible people, and I have had the pleasure of watching these people develop their careers. I have always supported promotion from within and always been supportive of giving people a chance, after all, someone did that for me all those years ago.
“I am now looking forward to a more relaxed lifestyle and want to make the most of the things I have put off due to work commitments. I am sure I will miss the pace of life, which has been a massive part of my routine for many years, but the main thing I will miss is the people. For the people are always the most important piece of any team, structure, and business, and many of the people I have worked with have become good friends.
“I wish all my colleagues and board directors all the best for the future.
“35 years ago, I walked into a warehouse in Salford as a picker on summer holidays, now I leave that same business as a board director, anything and everything is possible. I wish evo all the best for the future and I thank them for all the help and support.”
